A brief history
Sterling Trust Limited was established in the Isle of Man in 1995 by husband and wife, David and Robbin Johnson to provide trust and company management services. We are still a family owned and managed business.
In 2005, David and Robbin were joined in the business by Robbin's brother, Dudley Butt, following his retirement from the Isle of Man Constabulary - Dudley had reached the rank of Detective Chief Inspector by that time. Dudley is Sterling's Compliance Director and Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
In 2007, David's younger sister, Nicola, joined the company in the capacity of Administrator, having spent more than a decade working for Onchan Commissioners - our local authority - where she was popular with staff and customers alike.
Our staff was complemented by the addition of Colin Williamson in 2009, who took up the role of Manager following a 10 year period working with a large fiduciary company on the Isle of Man. Colin had worked with David on two previous occasions, and David was delighted to welcome him to Sterling when the opportunity arose for them to work together again.
