Communications In 1987 provision of the Isle of Man communications network was licensed to Manx Telecom, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of mmO2. The terms of the licence that was granted have ensured that investment in the communications network has been extensive, giving the Isle of Man excellent communication links with the rest of the world, whether this is through telephone, fax or the internet. Manx Telecom’s licence was renewed in 2007 ensuring continuity of service and a continued commitment to the development of our communications structure. Sure Mobile, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cable & Wireless launched a mobile network in the Isle of Man in competition with Manx Telecom during 2007.
