Financial Supervision The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) is an independent body established by Tynwald, and consists of no less than three persons appointed by the Treasury, and whom are generally drawn from the financial community. The Chief Executive of the FSC also sits on the Commission. The FSC is responsible for the licensing and supervision of banks, building societies, investment businesses, collective investment schemes and fiduciary service providers. It is also responsible for the management of the Companies Registry. The FSC aims to encourage the growth of the financial sector in the Isle of Man by the addition of well-established organisations to those already operating on the Island, whilst ensuring that once established they continue to meet the criteria that have been set down for licensees.
