How we like to help where we can

Sterling and Corporate Social Responsibility

Sterling likes to support the community that it is based in, and assists a number of causes in common with many other businesses.

However over the years the support has been rather unstructured and has mostly been given where asked or if one of our members of staff have had a particular desire to provide financial assistance.

As our staff numbers have grown we decided to make our charitable activities a little more formal, and asked each member of staff to nominate a charity or cause that they would like to support – of course each person chose a different charity!

We therefore decided to run an annual fund raising campaign. At the end of each year, the total amount of funds that have been collected by the staff will be doubled by Sterling, and the resulting amount divided equally between each of the charities or causes that were nominated by the staff.

Funds will be raised through individual or collective endeavors or challenges and the staff are being encouraged to be creative !

Age Concern is an independent local charity working to improve life for older people on our island.

Cruse Bereavement Care exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people, and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss.

KOCEP— means Koguta Community Empowerment Project. It was founded in the Village known as Koguta situated near to Muhoroni Town 80 kilometers from Kisumu.

Manx Blind Welfare Society, through a network of talented staff and dedicated volunteers has been providing vital services to the blind and visually impaired of the Isle of Man since 1936.

A new centre for people with learning difficulties. The five Manx charities are Manx MencapDown’s Syndrome Isle of Man, Autism in MannManx Gateway and the Special Olympics Isle of Man.
